| | | | Healthcare Quality Strategies, Inc., (HQSI), a nonprofit corporation, has been an innovative leader in evaluating and improving healthcare in New Jersey for more than 25 years. HQSI was founded in 1982 as the Peer Review Organization of New Jersey, Inc. (PRONJ). We adopted our current corporate name in 2005 to more clearly highlight our mission, which is to accelerate improvement in healthcare quality through a collaborative and interactive process with the healthcare community. HQSI has served as a Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) since the inception of the Quality Improvement Program and the Medicare Peer Review Program (a precursor to the current QIO program) in 1984. As a QIO, we work closely with healthcare providers across all settings of care, consumers, and stakeholders to improve the quality of care provided to 1.3 million New Jersey residents with Medicare.
